Next up in our Yuletide Folk lineup is one of my favorite people who’s been a part of the Yuletide team for over 25 years, Robbin Childress.
A Standing Ovation for Robbin Childress
Robbin’s personality and warming nature, radiates off of her every day.
Robbin is our current Account Executive but she likes to refer to herself as the “Yuletide Office Greeter.” Extremely friendly and outgoing, it is such a pleasure to walk into the office and see someone as welcoming and happy as Robbin.
Before Robbin was born, the doctors told her mom that she was going to have a boy. So you can imagine the surprise her mother had when she found out she had given birth to an outstanding baby girl.
“My mom told me that I was the ugliest baby she had ever seen. She has a very funny sense of humor and I think that is where mine comes from.”
When Robbin was young, she wanted to grow up and become a ballerina and a teacher. She remembers getting inspired from her kindergarten teacher and that’s when she decided she wanted to show kids to be the best that they can be.
Even though Robbin never became a teacher (and we’re grateful because we aren’t quite sure what we would do without her) she doesn’t have any regrets.
During Robbin’s free time along with her niece, she volunteers with Vision Prep School every Friday to provide Happy Pacs, which are lunch bags filled with non-perishable items.
“We decided to do this because we realized that some kids only get one meal a day when they are at school. Over the weekend, we wanted them to have something to fill their tummies as well.”
Robbin doesn’t claim to have any hidden talents because she is an open book (soon to be best seller) but her favorite vacation spot is Holland, Amsterdam.
“What I love the most about working at Yuletide is how everyone works together as a family. It is an amazing feeling and an unbelievable sight to see.”
Robin is a grandmother of five incredible grandsons: Brylon, Skyler, Chance, River, and Londyn. Even if they don’t realize it yet, those boys truly hold the key to her heart.
